Proper care of terry towels
Vossen Care Guide
Here you will find valuable tips on how to care for your VOSSEN terry towels so that they remain soft, absorbent and visually appealing for a long time.
Terry towels, bath rugs and bathrobes are with us every day and make our skin feel comfortable. But to ensure that they retain their fluffy texture and high absorbency, the right care is crucial.
With the right washing and drying method, you can ensure that your terry towels look like new and feel wonderfully soft even after many washes.
Today's detergents are able to remove bacteria, germs and stains at temperatures as low as 20°C to 40°C. For the sake of the environment, we therefore recommend a maximum temperature of 40°C for hygienically clean laundry.
Please always wash white, light-colored and intensely colored laundry separately, as this can prevent the colors from staining or overflowing. Heavy-duty detergents should only be used for whites as they contain optical brighteners. For colored laundry, we recommend the classic color washing powder from claro, which is gentle on the delicate colors of colored laundry.
The exact quantity for the dosage can be found on the packaging of the washing powder. When using claro washing powder, we recommend a heaped tablespoon of washing powder for normal soiling and water hardness.
Please do not use fabric softener at all for the first ten washes of new terry towels. After that, we recommend avoiding too much fabric softener, as it adheres to the fibers like a film and can therefore adversely affect both the absorbency of the terry towelling and the formation of lint. If you have a tumble dryer, you can do without fabric softener completely, as our products are extremely fluffy thanks to our unique AIRpillow Technology.
It is quite normal for high-pile terry items and velour qualities in particular to fluff a little at first. Thanks to our unique AIRpillow technology, VOSSEN terry products fluff 90% less than conventional towels. However, if heavy linting does occur due to friction on the washing drum, this can be avoided by optimally filling the washing machine (no underloading or overloading). Please observe the recommended load size of your washing machine manufacturer.
As our products are made from the natural product cotton, they cannot be 100% shrink-proof. After washing, pull the towels into shape when they are half-damp and make sure that your dryer temperature is not set too high.
Drawn threads are no problem! Pile pullers can simply be cut short on the fabric - this will not cause any running stitches. Please avoid washing textiles with hooks or zippers together.
With new polyacrylic carpets, fluffing is often normal in the first few weeks or months, as the fibers are cut to a certain length during manufacture and can therefore remain in the carpet. The loose fibers loosen over time, so it may appear "fluffy", especially in the beginning. Synthetic fiber carpets are particularly easy to clean and dry faster as they absorb less water. If you put the polyacrylic carpet in the tumble dryer at a low temperature after washing, additional fluff can be collected and disposed of from the fluff filter.
Vossen Quality
AirPillow Technology
Thanks to the innovative AirPillow technology, the towelling loops stand upright and form fine air cushions between the loops. This ensures noticeably more fluffiness, exceptional softness and significantly higher absorbency - for a particularly soft feeling on the skin.
